Cavalier Mk 1 "Silver Aero" 2.4 Turbo Sportshatch
“Silver Aero” was a one off
Prototype build in 1980 based on the Cavalier MK1 Sportshatch. The car was
displayed at the International Car Show at the NEC in October 1980. The
plan was to offer existing Sportshatch owners and buyers to upgrade there
car to the Silver Aero spec.

The car has a 2.4 Turbocharged
engine which produces 150bhp. This was build by WBB Racing Limited and
Turbo Torque Limited. Special vents were incorporated into the bonnet to
aid with cooling of the Turbo. The special bodykit is made of glass fibber
and includes the front nose cone, lower front spoiler with built in fog
lamps and indicators, mouldings on the sills and full under body skirting.
A wing was fitted to the rear hatch and a special spoiler to the lower
valance. Special alloy wheels with Goodyear tyres completed the externals.

The inside of the car does not
disappoint. Lavishly equipped with deep pile carpeting, plush door trim and
advanced black leather recaro seats. A Voxon Radio/cassette was
incorporated into the centre console.
