VBOA 2017Billing 2016 ReportBilling 2015 ReportBilling 2014 ReportBilling 2013 ReportBilling 2012 ReportBilling 2011 ReportBilling 2010 ReportWhat an event Billing turned out to be - we had a fantastic line up of cars on the stand, we had some new member’s making their first trip to Billing as well as the regulars in attendance. We also had several member’s who travelled long distance to be with us, from Peter Docherty coming from Ireland to the Ruby Runner’s who had travelled all the way from one end of Britain to the other before coming to Billing.Kevin Bricknall once again did the Club and VBOA proud with his interview on BBC Radio Northampton. It was also very pleasing for me to see the Club Chairman with Chalkie the Cavalier (who was making his first ever appearance at Billing) and Vince’s first outing to Billing since 2003. This year the auction had some very special prizes raining from a new Playstation 3 and iPod Nano (which was very kindly donated by Mark and Gillian Sweetman) as well as other prizes from members, we really did the club proud with the auction which was held by Marilyn and Colin Scott who I would like to once again to thank for doing this for me.We had the largest turnout of Club cars on Friday - this almost confused me with what day it was considering the stand was so busy. There are so many members I would like to thank but if I thank you all personally I would take up the whole newsletter. So, it just leaves me to say a massive “thank you” to everyone who took part in this event and made the stand so special with banners and flags etc. One thing I must mention thoiugh - the Club won a very special award from the VBOA; we voted for John Corbett’s immaculate Cavalier Mk3 for the Chairman’s Cup and I am proud to say John Corbett won his category of Organiser’s Cup, this was covered by John Burgess from Classic Car Buyer. We managed to recruit 4 new member’s at Billing 2015; a special mention to Beth Watt for doing all the administration for this full sign-up procedure to happen on the day.All the best Richard Watt (352)Best in Show Winners from our own Club judging were the following:Marylin ScottCavalier Mk1STS 155SSaloonColin ScottCavalier Mk1RSF 388PCoupeSteve FordhamCavalier Mk1AKU 43TSports HatchKeith RichardsonCavalier Mk2A538 GBFSaloonJohn JonesCavalier Mk2C183 UHOEstatePhil ScaifeCavalier Mk3G499 SWVSaloonClaire WrightCavalier Mk3G936 GNVHatchbackMark SweetmanChevetteCUY 851WHatchbackPaul EllsonChevetteRCA 597VSaloonKarl HobbsChevetteEHJ 504XEstateKevin BricknallOpel MantaD820 LNMHatchbackJohn CorbettAstra Mk3J261 PLJBest GuestMarie WilcoxCavalier Mk1OMY 247WBesy Lady Driver/OwnerSteve FordhamCavalier Mk1AKU 43TMr Billing’s ChoiceWe should also mention that the Bob Watt Memorial Award is usually presented at Billing but an exception was made this year as it was awarded to Jane Miller who cannot travel to Billing. This was awarded earlier in the year on the White Griffin Run. But will be back to it’s usual Billing slot next year.
